Keeth Smart // Protagonist

A native of Brooklyn, New York, Keeth became the first American male fencer to achieve the #1 ranking in the world. In college, Keeth was a two-time NCAA Champion. After his college years, Keeth became a two-time US National Champion and a three-time Olympian. In 2008, he won a silver medal at the Beijing Olympics. He later earned an MBA from Columbia University.

Erinn Smart // Protagonist

Growing up in Brooklyn, New York, Erinn has earned a slew of accolades as a world class fencer. She was an All-American at Barnard College and as outside of collegiate athletics, she is a four-time US National Champion, a three-time Olympian, and an Olympic silver medalist in the 2008 Beijing Games. After her fencing career, Erinn earned an MBA from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School.

Luther Clement // Director/Cinematographer/Editor

Raised by schoolteachers in Lawrence, Kansas, Luther is a former internationally competitive fencer who got his start editing videos in the music industry. He graduated from Northwestern University with an MFA in Documentary Media in 2017 and currently teaches film at Davidson College.

Shuhan Fan // Director/Cinematographer

Shuhan was born in China’s Loess Plateau to a family active in the Chinese television industry. During her teenage years, Shuhan lived in Beijing with her father and dreamed of making movies. Shuhan graduated from the Documentary Media MFA program at Northwestern University in 2016 and is currently studying screenwriting at American Film Institute.

Nevo Shinaar // Producer

Born in Israel, Nevo is a Chicago-based creative producer and interdisciplinary artist. He is a founding member of ​Mirror Stage​, a non-fiction filmmaking collective as well as a graduate of Northwestern University’s Documentary Media MFA program. Nevo also works for Free Spirit Media, which promotes media literacy among young adults in Chicago’s West and South Side neighborhoods.

Aaron Brewer // Storyboard Artist/Animator

Aaron is a storyboard artist and traditional animator. He has worked in animation for 12 years on a variety of television programs and commercials. He is currently a storyboard artist for television and film on platforms such as Nickelodeon and Amazon.

Xiameng Lin // Score Composer/Sound Mixer

Summer is a musician and sound designer from Xiamen, China. She earned an MA in Sound Arts from Northwestern University in 2017. Having lived in Singapore, Austria, and the United States, Summer devotes herself to creating a diverse, inclusive, and inspiring music scene in her hometown in Southern China. She currently works for Xiamen University Malaysia Campus.
